Clerk Jacobs and Marrano Homes Mark Milestone with “THANK-A-VET” Discount Program

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs, along with “THANK-A-VET” participating merchant Marrano Homes hosted a Veterans Day Outreach, where veterans were invited to enroll in the County Clerk’s “THANK-A-VET” Discount Program. The event was held in one of Marrano’s new innovative green model homes located in Princeton Estates in West Seneca.

“The program is a way for us to recognize the service and sacrifices made by the over 53,000 veterans in Erie County,” Jacobs said.  “I am delighted that Marrano Homes enlisted in our “THANK-A-VET” initiative and offers such generous discounts to veterans who purchase one of their new homes.”

This event also served to mark the programs milestone of signing-on over 350 businesses throughout Erie County and issuing over 2,000 Discount Cards to area veterans. Marrano Homes was one of the first merchants to sign-on to the program soon after Jacobs took office.

County Clerk Jacobs presented Marrano Homes with a certificate recognizing their generosity and participation in the “THANK-A-VET” Program. “We need to do everything possible to take care of our veterans, after they have taken care of us,” said Jacobs.

Several discount and value-added discount options will be available to veterans who purchase a Marrano Home according to John Manns, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  “It is an honor for Marrano Homes to take part in the “THANK-A-VET” program,” Manns said.

At present, eight veterans have taken advantage of the discounts offered by Marrano Homes, adding up to over $20,000 in total savings for those enrolled in the County Clerk’s Discount Program and purchased a newly built Marrano Home.

Veterans can choose between a free appliance package, including a Whirlpool microwave, range and refrigerator, or a discount on the installation of universal design features.  Universal floor plan features include no-step entry, one-story living, wider doorways and hallways, extra floor space, blocking in bathroom walls allowing for easy installation of handrails and lever door handles.
