EAST AURORA, N.Y. - Assemblywoman Jane Corwin (R, C, I – Clarence) announced that she is conducting her first Winter Clothing Drive.  The event will kick-off on Wednesday, December 8 and will run through January 5.

Assemblywoman Corwin will begin collecting new or gently-used winter hats, gloves or mittens, coats, scarves and boots at her district office, 8180 Main Street in Clarence, beginning December 8.  Individuals unable to deliver items to Corwin’s office can call (716) 839-4690 to arrange a site pick-up.

Donations also can be dropped off at The Aurora Library, located at 550 Main St. in East Aurora, and the Lockport Family YMCA, located at 21 East Avenue in Lockport, until January 5.

“This time of the year, when the temperature drops and winds pick up, there is an urgent need to keep our neighbors and children warm.  This year, as many families continue to struggle given the tough economy, I hope our community can come out to help,” said Assemblywoman Corwin.

Corwin said donations will be distributed to local charities.

For more information or to participate, contact the assemblywoman’s district office at (716) 839-4690.
