Student Athletes Raising the Bar Thanks to Improved Training

West Seneca East High School athletes have reportedly experienced superior results after implementing Primordial Strength training methods through their certified coaches, according to Steven Helmicki, president of Primordial Strength Inc.

One female athlete added five inches on her high jump after just two weeks of training, said Helmicki. Another athlete who had plateaued for nearly two years recently shaved several tenths of a second off her sprint times.

When former Slippery Rock University wrestler and West Seneca West Middle School teacher and coach Marty Rudich was told by the medical profession to cut back on his activities and increase his medications, he wisely chose to explore another alternative.

Marty contacted Steven Helmicki, president of Primordial Strength Inc. of East Aurora, and is now working with Helmicki and Primordial to regain his strength and return to a more active and athletic lifestyle.

East Aurora, NY - Cure that cabin fever while golfing for wildlife at Hawk Creek Wildlife Center’s first annual Eagles & Birdies Golf Tournament Saturday, February 12, 2011. The event will be held at Cyber Creek Indoor Golf Facility in Elma, beginning with the Tournament kick-off at 1:00pm, followed by the 4:00pm-7:00pm After Party. East Aurora Hockey Program is Growing in Size and Skill

The 2010-2011 season has brought a great change to the East Aurora/Holland club hockey program. Never have the members of the program been so compatible and assiduous. The JV and varsity teams appear to just be getting started, with new games bringing stronger wins in terms of scoring goals and of establishing a more impregnable team, of which East Aurora can be proud.

The beginning of the East Aurora Hockey Team coincided with the effort to create an ice rink in the Village of East Aurora, as parents and other adults worked to give members of the community the opportunity to glide on the ice.

Hamburg resident Blake McLimans was redshirted at Michigan last season so he could learn more about what it takes to succeed at the Division I level. This year, it’s a different story.

McLimans, a 6-foot 10-inch, 240-pound forward who wears number 22 for the Michigan Wolverines, spent his off-season training at Primordial Strength Inc. in East Aurora with Steven Helmicki, president of the local fitness training company.

Just Announced: The French Connection to Appear at HockeyTowneUSA Fan Fest

The French Connection — Gilbert Perreault, Rene Robert and Richard Martin — will be appearing December 26 and 27 at HockeyTowneUSA Fan Fest in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

HockeyTowneUSA Fan Fest is being held December 26-29 and is sponsored by Towne Automotive Group, Certo Brothers Distributing Company and Sgroi Financial LLC, in association with WNY Hockey Magazine. Hockey fans from Western New York, Southern Ontario and around the world will also be in downtown Buffalo during this time for the World Junior hockey tournament.
