Donate a Prom Dress, Enter Raffle to Win Bandits Tickets on Saturday

Urban Valet is offering a chance to win two Buffalo Bandits tickets to anyone who donates a gown to Legislator Lynne Dixon’s Prom Dress Drive on Saturday, March 24 at any of Urban Valet’s locations. All donors will receive a coupon for 25 percent off their next cleaning as well.

Each donor will receive one coupon and one chance to win two Bandits tickets to a home game. Multiple coupons or chances to win will not be given for multiple dresses. Dresses can be donated during the following times:

  • 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Hamburg,  106B Evans Street,
  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Orchard Park,  4081 North Buffalo Road
  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Buffalo, 620 Elmwood Avenue

The winner will be drawn and contacted on Monday, March 26.

Available in limited quantities and priced at $29.95, each book available at Dog Ears is personally autographed by the author. Included in this full-color, 144-page in-depth look at the USFL are stories on Buffalo football greats Jim Kelly, Doug Flutie, Marv Levy and Ray Bentley. Niagara Athletics Hall of Famer Eva Cunningham to Host a Free Girls’ Basketball Clinic

On Saturday, February 25, basketball star Eva Cunningham will host a free basketball clinic for girls in grades 6 – 8. The clinic will be held at Buffalo Seminary, and will run from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Participants will have the chance to work one on one with Coach Cunningham to learn the fundamentals of basketball, as well as improve their dribbling, passing and shooting. Basketball players of all skill levels are welcome.

A 2005 graduate of Niagara University, Eva Cunningham is the all-time leading scorer for the Purple Eagles women's basketball program, with a record total of 1,753 points and 553 assists. She is also the first female student-athlete in Niagara’s history to have her jersey retired.

Eight NFL Greats Scheduled to Appear at Sports Collectors Expo 23

Sports Collectors Expo 23, featuring eight former NFL greats and sponsored by Five Star Promotions and The Sports Corner, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 11, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 12, at Batavia Downs Casino, 8315 Park Road, Batavia.

Scheduled to appear and sign autographs for fans on Saturday are Denver Broncos Hall of Famer Floyd Little from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Buffalo Bills greats Andre Reed and Steve Tasker from noon to 1:30 p.m., and former New York Giants superstar Rodney Hampton from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres to Hold Teddy Bear Toss December 19th

The Buffalo Junior Sabres will host a “Teddy Bear Toss” during its home game against the Brampton Capitals on Monday, December 19 at the Northtown Center at Amherst, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive (between Maple and Millersport).  The game begins at 7:30pm.

Fans are asked to bring a new, unwrapped teddy bear to the game.  When the Jr. Sabres score their first goal, fans are invited to celebrate by tossing the teddy bears on the ice.  Bears thrown to the ice will be collected for distribution to local needy families by the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association.

Every year, the Buffalo Sabres Alumni collect and distribute items such as food and toys to the less fortunate.  Operated by the Alumni, the Jr. Sabres are eager to help bring some holiday cheer to local families in need and ask local hockey fans to consider taking part in this generous gesture.
