East Aurora Co-op to Hold First Election: Seeking Candidates

East Aurora Co-op to Hold First Election: Seeking Candidates

One of the primary benefits of member-ownership in a cooperative is having a voice and being able to influence how the co-op functions and evolves over time. There are many ways member-owners may participate, from running for a seat on the board, voting for board candidates or serving as a volunteer in the election process. These opportunities, defined in Cooperative Principle #2, is democratic member control, and is what separates us from a typical grocery store.

The East Aurora Cooperative Market is pleased to announce that its first elections will be held this spring, and we are looking for candidates to fill three open positions on the board. We’ll also be looking for volunteers to assist with the process, including ballot counting and certification.

Registration Renewal Envelopes Soon to be Available in all Buffalo & Erie County Libraries

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs and the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System announced today that library patrons will now be able to find the signature green “Just Mail It” envelopes at their local branches while checking out the latest best-seller.

The Clerk’s Office is asking Erie County residents to “Renew Local” when renewing their auto registration in order to keep 12.7% of vehicle registration fees here in Erie County rather than sending 100% to Albany. Taxpayers should know that when they renew their registration at any of the Erie County Auto Bureaus or mail their renewal directly to the County Clerk’s Office, over $1.5 million in revenue annually stays in Erie County to support County services.

Jacobs Alerts Motorists to Renew Local and Avoid Vehicle Registration Delays

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs wants to make motorists aware that renewing your vehicle registration through the local Auto Bureau or utilizing the signature green-postage paid envelopes, can generate up to $1.5 million in additional revenue for the county and is done without any delays.

Recently the Department of Motor Vehicles identified a defect in registration documents supplied by their vendor. “According to the NYS DMV, this has prevented the printing of most registrations and window stickers that were ordered starting January 1, 2013,” said Jacobs. “As a result, there will be a delay in printing the registrations and stickers for motorists who ordered new, duplicate or renewal documents through Albany since January 1.”
