Main Street Marketplace, West Seneca’s new farmers’ market that will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evenings beginning May 15, has reached an exclusive sponsorship agreement with a town-based organization for the 2014 season.

Sponsoring the market, to take place on the grassy hill at Union Road and Main Street, will be the Western New York Federal Credit Union. Winter Market at Horsefeathers Continues on March 29

 

The popular Winter Market at Horsefeathers will continue its successful run on Saturday, March 29. The indoor market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through May 3 and occupies portions of the first floor and lower level of the Horsefeathers Market & Residences, located at 346 Connecticut St. on Buffalo’s West Side. 

Occupying the community group table on March 29 will be representatives of Backyard Orchards.

Shop at Macy's to Support Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, which manages and maintains the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed park system in the City of Buffalo, has been selected for “Heart Your Park,” a program introduced as part of Macy’s “Secret Garden” campaign, that aims to raise awareness and dollars for local parks across the country. From March 7 to March 31, customers at local Macy’s stores can donate $1 or more at the register, with 100 percent of the donations benefiting the city’s Olmsted parks. To further spread the love, Macy’s will match the total customer donation across all stores, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000 in total.

Jacobs to bring “Passports on the Move” Outreach to Elma

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs announced that his office, in cooperation with Erie County Legislator Joseph Lorigo and Elma Town Supervisor Dennis Powers, is holding a special “Passports on the Move” outreach on Thursday, March 13th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Elma Town Hall, 1600 Bowen Road, Elma.

This community event is designed to assist the public apply for a passport card, passport book or both. Applicants can expect to receive their passport in approximately four to six weeks for routine service. For an additional fee, the County Clerk’s Office offers an expedited service which reduces the processing time to 3 days.

“I am pleased to bring our “Passports on the Move” outreach to the residents of Elma and thank Legislator Lorigo and Supervisor Powers for hosting this event,” said Jacobs. “It shows that county and town governments can work together to better serve and meet the needs of our constituents.”

Enjoy The Journey Plans New Exhibit, Art Classes

 

A new exhibit and several art classes are scheduled in the coming weeks at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.

“Envelop,” featuring the work of emerging artist Margaret Giamo of Orchard Park, is the gallery’s next featured exhibit. A recent graduate of SUNY College at Cortland, Giamo’s paintings are timeless, beautiful, striking and evoke emotion. An opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 14, with the exhibit on display from March 12 through April 5.

Jacobs Brings Auto Bureau Services Back To West Seneca

County Clerk offering motorists Mobile Unit service every Friday

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs officially unveiled the Erie County Auto Bureau’s newest On-Site Mobile location. Jacobs worked with Town Supervisor Sheila Meegan to once again offer auto bureau services in the Town of West Seneca.

“I pledged to restructure and improve the hours and location sites of the Erie County Auto Bureau”, said County Clerk Jacobs. “We have worked with our partners in government to expand office operations and enhance hours for all motorists with no additional costs to the residents of Erie County.”

The new Mobile Auto Bureau will serve West Seneca and the surrounding areas every Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the West Seneca Ice Rink, 1250 Union Road, West Seneca.
