East Aurora Village Board members were nearly finished with their budget process when they learned that the East Aurora School District was seeking help in sustaining a police program while closing a gap in its own budget.

Mayor Allan Kasprzak told colleagues at an April 4 work session that he had received a call from Interim Superintendent Brian Russ. “The district is looking for the village to pick up more of the cost for the school resource officer in light of budget constraints,” Kasprzak said.

A Midsummer Night's Dream at EAHS April 8 - 9

A Midsummer Night's Dream at EAHS April 8 - 9

What better play for the spring than Shakespeare's classic, A Midsummer Night's Dream?  In a new, cozy setting of the East Aurora High School's Black Box Theatre (room B184), students will bring the script to life with the original Shakespearian English, but in a somewhat contemporary setting. This venue features a simple set and encourages viewers to become a part of the production during some scenes.

Audiences will enjoy up-close comedy, complete with puns, fairies and melodramatic antics, about the confusion of love and its effect on humans.  EAHS senior Leo Frank directs a talented cast with both newcomers to the dramas of EAHS and veterans who appeared in Seussical and Our Town.  Tickets are $5.00 and will be available during school hours or at the door.
