Buffalo Seminary to Host "Let Us Impress You" on March 15

On Thursday, March 15, Buffalo Seminary will host "Let Us Impress You" from 7:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. The event is designed for families interested in learning more about the independent, college-preparatory curriculum and all-girls learning environment at Sem. If you’re the parent or guardian of a girl in 6th, 7th or 8th grade, come spend the morning as a Sem student!

Not your typical open house, “Let Us Impress You” simulates a school day at Sem, beginning with the all-school Morning Meeting. After a short rotation of classes, parents and guardians are invited to a Q&A with Head of School Jody Douglass, Sem staff members and students. Light refreshments will be served.

For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Director of Admissions Carrie Auwarter at (716) 885-6780 or admissions@buffaloseminary.org.

Valentines for Veterans Program Generates Thousands of Cards

Hundreds of handmade Valentine’s Day cards will be delivered to members of the American Legion Post No. 735 thanks to local students’ hard work. Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo thanks the schools that participated in the Valentines for Veterans program and was pleased to report that many heartfelt cards were made.

“Valentines for Veterans is a program that shows our veterans how grateful we are to them for their service by giving them Valentines from area students. The students were very excited to participate and many shared stories with me about family members who have served or are serving in the armed forces. At this young age they already understand the sacrifice made by our servicemen and women,” Legislator Lorigo said. “I want to thank the schools for participating in this program and making tremendous cards for local veterans.”

The following schools from Legislator Lorigo’s District participated:
