Buffalo Seminary Offers Two Dates for Entrance and Scholarship Exam

Buffalo Seminary, a private independent all-girls high school located in the Elmwood Village neighborhood of Buffalo, will offer its Entrance and Scholarship Exam for prospective students on two dates: Saturday, December 1, 2012, and Saturday, December 15, 2012. On both days the exam will begin at 9 a.m. at 205 Bidwell Parkway, Buffalo. Students interested in attending Sem beginning in fall 2013 must register for one of the two exam dates, as well as complete all other requirements of the application process. The deadline for first-round candidates is December 15, 2012, for the 2013-2014 school year. Applications received after this date will be processed on a rolling basis.

In addition, Sem has announced five named scholarship opportunities for the 2013-2014 academic year: The L. Gertrude Angell Leadership Scholarship, The Deborah Dann Reed Arts Scholarship, The Buffalo Seminary Math/Science Scholarship, The Niswander Family Outstanding Scholar Award and The Buffalo Seminary Summer at Sem Scholarship.

Each scholarship provides a minimum of $2,000 per year up to full day tuition. Scholarship recipients are chosen for their academic record, unique talents and potential to make strong contributions to the life of the school as a matriculated student. A prospective student may apply for any and all of these scholarships.

“We strive to help every qualified applicant consider a four-year education at Sem,” said Head of School Jody Douglass. “Scholarship opportunities are just one way to help outstanding candidates consider an independent-school education.”
