Family fun event to include old-fashioned Swirls Cupcakery Cupcake Walk

EAST AURORA, NY – Aurora Waldorf  School (AWS) will hold their annual Winter Faire on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 10am-3pm.  In making the announcement, school administrator Mary McLaughlin noted that the faire is open to the public with a low $5 per person admission and plenty of free parking available.   Children 16 and under will receive $5 in activity tickets with their admission.

“The Winter Faire draws people from across WNY who like to shake off the winter blues and get a dose of pure fun,” McLaughlin said. “Included in the day’s activities will be live musical ensembles, children’s handcrafts, puppet shows, storytelling in an enchanted castle, jump-rope making and roaming pocket ladies & jewel gnomes.”

Unique to the AWS Winter Faire is the new version of the popular cake walk, the cupcake walk sponsored by Swirls Cupcakery, that combines musical chairs with the chance to win a cupcake!    Michael Wulf, owner of the East Aurora cupcakery is thrilled to support the school.  “Swirls believes in supporting family & community oriented values and it makes sense for us to create the cupcakes for this magical event!  We are excited to be a part of it.”

A full range of delicious foods, created by the school’s in-house chef and modeled after the award-winning lunch program, will also be available to those attending the winter faire.  Specialties include homemade Mediterranean plate with hummus, baba ghanouj and tabouli,  mac & cheese and hearty soups, with take home quarts available for purchase. AWS is located at 525 West Falls Road in the Village of West Falls.
