Keep Pets Happy

Adopt A Pet: Daphne

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Suzanne Laba from the Buffalo Animal Shelter once again stopped by the Daybreak Saturday studios with Daphne, a wonderful dog currently living in a foster home.

Daphne is a very friendly dog and was jumping on our newsroom desks before the show! She has been living with her foster mother since this past April.

She is about 18 months old and is housebroken and friendly to everyone she meets.

If you're interested in adopting Daphne, you can email her foster mother here.

Cats are known as mysterious creatures. While some of the things they do can be puzzling at times, you don't have to be a super sleuth to decode your pet's behaviors.

Steve Dale, certified behaviorist, author and host of "Steve Dale's Pet World" radio show, has answers for common questions about feline quirks.

What does it mean when my cat rubs her chin and body against me?

Adopt a Pet: Little Miss Sally

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Suzanne Laba of the Buffalo Animal Shelter stopped by the Daybreak Saturday studios to show off Sally, an energetic and fully grown dog.

Sally will likely be bouncing around in her kennel when you bring her home, however she is a wonderfully sweet dog who walks well on a leash. She is about fully grown as of now, but may fill out a little bit with good food from a good home.

Many people may be unwilling to adopt a pet from the animal shelter, however that doesn't mean you still can't help. Right now the Buffalo Animal Shelter is looking to install a stereo system throughout the building. The idea is to play certain types of music to help relieve some of the dog's stress and anxiety.

When it comes to caring for your pet, you do everything you can to ensure they stay happy and healthy. And while there are a variety of pet foods on the market boasting recipes made using wholesome ingredients, if pets aren't digesting that food correctly, they may as well be eating the inexpensive fillers you've been trying to avoid.
