Most dogs love to go for a car ride, but it's up to their owners to ensure they ride along safely. Adopting a pet, whether it’s a giant dog or tiny kitten, is a big decision that requires a lifelong commitment — but when you find the right fit, adopting a pet also provides a life full of love. If you’re considering adoption, here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Space: Do you have a big backyard? Different types of dogs and cats require different amounts of exercise and space. Take into consideration the size of your home as part of our decision to adopt.

Dogs and cats used to have to work for a living. Many were bred to be mousers, hunters, herders or protectors. Most pets today have a much more sedentary lifestyle. They spend their days lying around, waiting for their human companions to come home and are rewarded for their patience with a big bowl of food. However, regular exercise supports healthy circulation of both nutrients and waste and is essential for a pet to have a happy and long life.
