Of course, cats can't really tell you about their likes, dislikes, hopes and dreams. However, if they could, here are four things they might suggest to keep them happy and healthy.

1. Feed me the right food for my age and needs. Can you imagine if you followed the same diet from infancy all the way through adulthood? Much like their owners, as cats move through life their needs continue to change, from the calories they need to the balance of nutrients that keep them healthy. Feeding your cat a pet food advertised as suitable for “all ages” or “all life stages” might give them excessive or deficient levels of nutrients. Therefore, be sure to feed your cat a food that is formulated to address the nutritional needs of specific life stages, including kitten, adult, mature adult and senior.

2. Play with me. Regular play and exercise is important for your cat's overall happiness and health, especially if they spend much of their time indoors. It's a great way of spending quality time together. Your cat will thank you for it.

3. Take care of my teeth. Oral care is just as important to your cat's overall health as it is to yours. So, if your cat could talk it might remind you to brush its teeth. Also, try feeding them a food like Hill's Science Diet Oral Care with precisely balanced nutrition and fibre technology that helps scrub teeth and reduce plaque build-up.

4. Brush my coat. Regular grooming not only helps you bond with your cat, it also helps reduce hairballs. In fact, it gives you a chance to spot hair and coat problems and helps stimulate blood flow.
