As pets grow and develop from a puppy/kitten to an adult and then to a senior pet, pet owners need to ensure their pet's nutritional needs are met throughout all stages of life. Consider the following list of do's and don’ts to help maintain optimal health of your pet:

• Practice proper pet nutrition by considering your pet's unique needs. Puppy/kitten, adult, weight loss and hairball care formula's have all been specially formulated to meet specific nutritional needs of both dogs and cats in every life stage and for every lifestyle.

• Clean your pet's bowl with soap and water often, since these bowls are a breeding ground for bacteria.

• Choose a high-quality food with the recommended daily allowance for your pet's life stage, breed and size. Pet foods are available in different formulas, which will meet the unique needs of different pets.

• Never feed your pet table scraps. Your pet will not only suffer from obesity and other health related issues, but it will also encourage begging and bad table manners.

• Don't over feed your pet. Follow portion guidelines included on pet food packaging. Check the product bag for this information to ensure pets receive the right amount of calories on a daily basis.
