Aurora Town Board members were unanimous Monday night in rejecting a proposal for a shared village, town and library facility at the site of the current library on Main Street. While expressing appreciation to Library Board member Alvin Fontanese for raising the idea of an expansion to the library that would allow for new office and meeting space, each Town Board member said that the cost would be too high for the town. Instead, the board preferred to move forward with a planned move of town offices to the facility at 300 Gleed Ave.

The plan offered by Fontanese is considerably smaller than that recommended through the Shared Municipal Services Incentive (SMSI) grant-funded process which was completed in 2010.
