Legislator Mills Invites Residents on Guided Walk in Emery Park

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills announces that the next free spring guided walk in a County park will be held tomorrow (June 25) at Emery Park in South Wales. The purpose of the program is to encourage residents to be more active and healthy.

“These walks were well attended last year and walkers were able to enjoy the County’s jewels, its parks,” Legislator Mills said. “This is a great effort to promote healthy family fun and learn more about how to stay healthy.”

Registration begins at 9 a.m. onsite, followed by the walk at 10 a.m. Walkers should meet at the Fieldhouse in Emery Park, 2084 Emery Road, South Wales.

At the walk, attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and BMI. Assorted health education materials and smoking cessation services, products, and cessation program enrollment will be available.

Legislator Mills represents District 13 in the Erie County Legislature. For additional information, please call his Legislative Office at (716) 655-5650 or email jmills13@erie.gov.
