It is almost August and you know what that means, it is almost time for the Fair! Celebrating 12 days of family fun and entertainment from August 10-21 on the Hamburg Fairgrounds where kids 12 and under are FREE everyday! The Fair has been voted the top Family Fun Event by Buffalo Spree!

Some of the new FREE entertainment highlights include:

  • Bengal Tiger Encounter- This show will entertain you as you learn about the endangered and exotic Bengal tiger. This will give you an up close and personal experience that will leave you stunned.
  • Charlie Stron Stiltwalker- He is Uncle Sam as you have never seen him before! Catch Charlie roaming the Fairgrounds on his stilts.
  • DockDogs- As seen on TV! Get ready for an experience for all ages with four canine competitions: Big Air, Extreme Vertical, Speed Retrieve and the Iron Dog Challenge. Cheer on your favorite and marvel at these amazing animal athletes.
  • Tarry-Ho Miniature Horses- The horses will be on display and in the Daily Parade!
  • The Magic of Cliff Hopkins and Kelly- Get ready to laugh and be dazzled by a show jam packed with amazing magic, jaw dropping illusions and side splitting comedy.
  • World Trade Center Traveling Memorial- In honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 this memorial displays artifacts and stories from that fateful day. After completing a nationwide tour this will be the memorial’s last stop before making a permanent home at Ground Zero in NYC.

Back this year by popular demand:

  • The Stars of the Peking Acrobats- After a few years away, the Acrobats are back and better than ever. They will be completing tricks and stunts that defy the laws of gravity and keep you at the edge of your seat!
  • John Cassidy- The Bizarre Balloonologist- Watch as World Record Holder John Cassidy makes amazing balloon creations in a mix of artistry and comedy that is sure to leave the whole family laughing and in awe.
  • Rock-It the Robot-He stands 9 feet tall and dazzles crowds with his lights, sounds and changing colors. This gentle giant will be making his way through the fairground from the 8/17-21
  • Red White and You! Daily Parade- featuring the Pepsi Cola Marching Band, Morrisville State College Belgian Draft Horse Hitch, the Commerford Calliope Wagon Pony Hitch and more!

  • NEW this Year! Fairgrounds Mobile App! Download FREE for iPhone and Android. Powered by AT&T. Great features include, find your car, a scavenger hunt, daily highlights, find friends and more…
  • Three free concerts in the Buffalo.com Grandstand including, Randy Houser (August 11), America (August 15), and Ace Frehley (August 17)
  • The Buffalo.com Grandstand Concert lineup includes Nickelodeon boy band, Big Time Rush with Days Difference (August 10), Country Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda Lambert (August 14)  and America’s Got Talent  Season 2 Winner and Vegas performer, Terry Fator (August 16)
  • The motorevent lineup includes the FreestyleMX.com Worldwide Tour (August 13), the Ultimate Night of Destruction (August 18), two Lucas Oil Truck and Tractor Pulls now featuring the WNY Pro Farm Pullers (August 19 and 20), two World’s Largest Demolition Derbies (August 21, 2pm and 7pm).
  • Kids 12 and under are FREE with a paid adult to the FreestyleMX.com Worldwide Tour, the Ultimate Night of Destruction and both Lucas Oil Truck and Tractor Pulls.
  • Agricultural entertainment includes Milkable Mable, Hands on Ag-tivities, How to Give a Pig a Bath, and more.
  • Unique new displays include the Bonanza Shooting Gallery, with 100 interactive targets, The Dinosaur Tour, a 150 foot walk though tour of the inside of a dinosaur, and Micro Reality Stock Car Racing.
  • Back this year is Bear Country, Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics, Swifty Swine Races, Gary the Silent Clown, Lawton’s Trout Pond, Sea Lion Splash and many more
  • New this Year! The Strates Fun Card. This looks and acts like a debit card (1 dollar equals 1 credit) that can be purchased at any Strates ride ticket booth. Any denomination can be downloaded to the card and as the operator scans the card the amount will be deducted. Purchase your card presale online- 30 credits for $20 or during the Fair for $1 for 1 credit or 40 credits for $30.
  • Special Appearances by American Idol Contestant Crystal Bowersox (August 14) and NASCAR Driver Justin Allgaier (August 14) Check our website for times and locations (ecfair.org).
  • Check out the new Creative Arts Exhibit in the lower grandstand next to the Fair Offices!
  • There will be plenty of shopping including a bigger Craft Area and a remodeled North Pole Village, now called Peddler’s Path.
  • Fair Food is a staple of our event! Whether you enjoy the classics like fried dough, cotton candy and ribbon fries or are feeling adventurous you will not leave with an empty stomach. New foods this year include, brick oven pizza, gelato, The Big Kahuna Burger (it uses glazed donuts as a bun!), mini donuts and deep fried raviolis and mac and cheese.
