BUFFALO, NEW YORK — New York City-based venture capitalist and blogger Fred Wilson will be in Buffalo, New York on August 5, 2014, to participate in a “Z80 Labs Feeding Innovation Series” event at Larkin Square. Wilson will take part in a Q&A session led by Campus Labs Co-Founder Eric Reich. The event is presented by Buffalo-based technology incubator Z80 Labs, which is celebrating its second anniversary, and 43North— the world’s largest ($5M) business idea competition.

The session will be held outdoors from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EDT) in the covered boardwalk at Larkin Square, the venue sponsor. Parking and admission is free; however, attendees are asked to RSVP at http://z80-fred-wilson.eventbrite.com.

A founder and Managing Partner of Union Square Ventures, Fred Wilson began his career in venture capital in 1987, and has focused exclusively on information technology investments for the past 16 years. In 1996, Fred co-founded Flatiron Partners, and as Managing Partner was responsible for securing $150 million of initial capital commitments from Chase Capital Partners (now JP Morgan Partners) and SOFTBANK. He built the investment team, which grew to 10 investment professionals, and managed the creation of a $570 million portfolio. Wilson is also an active blogger, sharing stories and opinion at the popular website, www.avc.com.

As a Co-Founder of Campus Labs, Eric Reich has led the company from its inception to its current place as the leading assessment community and technology platform in higher education. Today, Reich determines the strategic direction of Campus Labs, evaluating alliances and acquisitions that serve to grow both the capabilities and campus membership of the company. While working towards his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees at the University at Buffalo, Reich was a recipient of the school’s prestigious Panasci Entrepreneurial Award for pioneering an information technology linkage system, which would later become Campus Labs.
