Leadership Buffalo Gives Back with LB Project

On October 3, 2013, to mark it's 25th Anniversary, Leadership Buffalo (LB) will host "The LB Project" a day of service during which LB alumi serve at organizations throughout the community.

Participants will assist in projects including, reading with students, gardening and yard work, preparing meals, and refurbishing offices.

Organizations involved include Cornerstone Manor, Enterprise Charter School, Food Bank of WNY, Friends of the Night People, Goodwill, Journey's End Refugee Center, Salvation Army, Silo City, SPCA, Tapestry Charter School, True Bethel and Vive, Inc.

"The LB Project's goal is three fold: to re-engage our alumni, give back to our community and to celebrate 25 years of making Buffalo better" said Althea Luehrsen, Executive Director.  "The members of our planning committee and class chairs were instrumental in this process as well."

"Leadership Buffalo is all about making a "better" Buffalo, said Cyndi Horrigan, LB class of '99.  "By sharing a few hours of my time at Enterprise Charter School, I can have fun with my former classmates and enrich not only my life but the life of someone else."

The anniversary event was planned with the help of a committee comprised of LB alumni.  Leadership Buffalo, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1987 with one mission: to unite existing and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds and perspectives in order to increase their knowledge of community issues, broaden their vision and enhance their ability to lead.  Twenty-five years later, Leadership Buffalo remains dedicated to its original mission.
