Roycrofters Association Announces Call for Artists

A Statement Released by the Roycrofters-At-Large Association

East Aurora, NY…The Roycrofters-At-Large Association (RALA), the sponsoring organization of the Roycroft Summer and Winter Festival’s has announced they are accepting applications for their two 2012 shows.  The show application is available on the website at www.ralaweb.com, or by contacting the RALA office at (716) 655-7252.  This year’s show dates are June 23 & 24, 2012 and December 1 & 2, 2012. 

The show applications will be reviewed and juried after the deadline of March 1, 2012.   All applicants will be notified by mail of the jury results.

Auditions for Shakespeare in Delaware Park’s 37th season will be held on February 18, 19, 20

Saturday, February 18       9am to 2pm       OPEN CALL

Sunday, February 19       10 am to 2pm       CALL BACKS

Monday, February 20       5pm to 9pm       CALL BACKS

Auditions will be held at The Market Arcade Building --617 Main Street Buffalo 14203 (this is NOT the Market Arcade “Movie” Complex)

East Aurora Art Society's Crystal Moonlight Gala

The 6th Annual Crystal Moonlight Gala will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. at Absolut Care of Aurora Park.  The Crystal Moonlight Gala is an elegant evening that will lift spirits and add a bit of beauty to a cold, grey time of year.

Guests are invited to enjoy the fellowship of artists from the East Aurora Art Society as they display their latest paintings.  Guest will also have the opportunity to tour the Artwalk Gallery also located on the Aurora Park campus to view additional Art Society work.  In addition, delightful hors ‘d oeuvres and refreshments will be provided in addition to live music.

Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery to Host Several Creative Events

Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, a unique West Seneca shop featuring a wide variety of artwork and gifts created by local artisans, will host several events during the month of February.

The popular Wine, Women & Art series, a “girls’ night out” with friends during which participants create a piece of art to take home, continues from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 2, with artist Andrea Oswald. Participant are asked to register by January 31 by calling 675-0204. The cost of the class is $25.

Dog Ears Bookstore Plans Events for Kids and Poetry Lovers

Dog Ears Bookstore, a nonprofit neighborhood bookstore located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, will begin a new six-week “Puppy Tales” story time session on Friday, Jan. 13. 

Open to children ages 2 to 4, Puppy Tales runs from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Fridays for six weeks. Each session includes stories, a craft and snacks. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a registration fee of $15, and room for 20 children in the program.
