Dog Ears Bookstore Plans Events for Kids and Poetry Lovers

Dog Ears Bookstore, a nonprofit neighborhood bookstore located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, will begin a new six-week “Puppy Tales” story time session on Friday, Jan. 13. 

Open to children ages 2 to 4, Puppy Tales runs from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Fridays for six weeks. Each session includes stories, a craft and snacks. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a registration fee of $15, and room for 20 children in the program.

Indulge Your Creative Side at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery

A reception featuring the work of local artist John Miliotto, creative classes and a girl’s night out headline the many events occurring during January at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, 1168 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca.

The public is invited to the opening reception of “Time Stands Still,” featuring works by Miliotto and several other artists, taking place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 13, at the gallery and gift shop. The exhibit will remain on display through February 10.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Buffalo

The recently popular musical group, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, is coming to Buffalo on December 27, 2011. Their rock twist on classical Christmas songs have made them famous, being played on the radio and used in commercials. One of their most recognizable songs is "Carol of the Bells," as seen in the video.

Buffalo ComedySportz

Buffalo ComedySportz is one of Western New York's interactive improv comedy performances. Two teams of actors perform skits, scenes, and songs, to win the biggest laughs from the audience. Similar to Whose Line is it Anyways?, these comical performances run on the audience's suggestions, keeping the show completely spontaneous and unrehearsed. A referee keeps the suggestions family-friendly and the show moving.
