Start Your Own Roycroft Collection by Becoming a Roycrofter at Large

East Aurora, NY  Elbert Hubbard started the utopian Roycroft Arts & Crafts community in East Aurora NY, with a  goal to be a writer, philosopher, and to put forth the best handcrafted books and work using the philosophy of Head, Heart & Hand.  Elbert Hubbard never dreamed that the items created at that time would become the valued collectibles of today.

The Roycrofters At Large Association (RALA) has carried on the ideals of Hubbards time by promoting the spirit of Hubbard and his early Roycrofters.   RALA offers an opportunity for people to be part of the living legacy by supporting their mission of keeping the Arts & Crafts movement alive through their various programs.  One of the programs providing support of these ideals has been through membership.  Each year, one of the Roycroft Renaissance Artisans creates a special item or premium for the membership at the patron level.  The Roycrofters At Large Association was formed over 30 years ago and provided a premium for each of those years.  The premium evolved based on a tradition by the Larkin Soap Co. where a premium was provided for their loyal customers.  Elbert Hubbard worked for the Larkin Company.

We invite you to start your own Roycroft Collection at the Roycroft Summer Festival on June 25 & 26, 2011, 10am-5pm at the Parkdale School, 141 Girard Avenue in East Aurora.  While at the Festival, you will experience the highest standards in craftsmanship by the Roycroft Renaissance Artisans.  These Artisans have been accepted by the Roycrofters At Large Association based on their superior quality of work through a Juried process.  These Artisans proudly display the registered double R mark representing the quality of their craft.

This year’s membership premium is an original Pin and Pendant designed by Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan Frank M. Glapa.  Cast in solid copper of 100 originals featuring the RALA mark with the Artists mark on the back.  Patrons members will select a pin or pendant.   Join us today and start your very own Roycroft Collection.  RALA will have a booth at the Roycroft Summer Festival where you will find more information about membership and other RALA programs.  Don’t forget to get your goodie box raffle tickets.  The drawing is Sunday, June 26th and the goodie box and contents are items crafted by the Roycroft Renaissance Artisans, valued at over $6000!  For more information, contact the Roycrofters At Large Association at (716) 655-7252, email: roycroftmail@verizon.net or visit their website at www.ralaweb.com
