The Rochester-based band Class 99 this week released its first EP, titled "Apartment 6B." Two of the members of the band, Michael Rousselle and Patrick Kearns, hail from East Aurora and call East Aurora High School their alma mater.

After playing two years’ worth of shows and gradually evolving their repertoire from cover medleys to original songs, the band decided it was time to hit the studio. Apartment 6B is the result of this process, and a stepping stone to a full album (as yet untitled) expected in the spring of 2011.

Apartment 6B showcases a mix of pop, hip-hop and techno styles. “There are traditional songs as well as tracks which take a satirical look at the state of music today and pop culture trends,” the band noted in a press release. “The tracks feature highly danceable instrumentals underneath sung vocals and rapped verses. The EP as a whole is meant to be fun, and often tongue-in-cheek.”

Their EP is available on iTunes, Amazon.com, Napster, and major social networking sites. The band’s website is http://class99music.com/. Their Facebook page, which includes the band's music, is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Class-99/183036601718161
