The Roycroft Winter Arts & Crafts Festival Showcases Exceptional Artwork

An Annual holiday tradition in East Aurora, NY is the Roycroft Arts & Crafts Winter Festival.  The Festival showcases exquisite artwork and designs made by Roycroft Renaissance Artisans.  At the show you will experience the high quality hand-craftsmanship and learn about the techniques used by these talented artisans.  Over 35 Juried Artisans will exhibit at the show displaying and selling their work exemplifying their principles of quality and beauty in their amazing designs.

The Roycroft Winter Arts & Crafts Festival is a very unique show with Artisan talent reaching the extreme.  This year Eileen Quinn Delduca, Canandaigua, NY will showcase her beautiful one of kind pieces of jewelry, designed and created by the Artisan.  Ms. Delduca has a strong foundation in metalsmithing, jewelry design and working with precious metal.  She utilizes many techniques using 14k & 18k gold and precious stones.  David Tundo, East Aurora, NY began his journey taking metalsmithing classes and apprenticing with RALA Master Artisans.  He continues to grow and produces fine hand-crafted metalwork using techniques in chasing, patina, hammering, sinking and repousse.  Janice Brecht, Buffalo, NY began quilting in 1971, she produces hangings, pillows, bags and wearable.  Ms. Brecht prepares her own fabric, beginning with closely woven white cotton, which is colored with fabric paints, producing unique effects for her designs.  She also utilizes plant materials she gathers and prepares to make direct prints in ink, or to produce sun prints.

This year’s show takes place on December 3rd & 4th, 2011 from 10am-5pm at the East Aurora Main Street School, East Aurora NY.  Many media’s are available including jewelry, wood, clay, book arts, metal, tile and many other art forms.  Holiday music and refreshments will be available, admission just a $1 for adults.

The very popular Goodie Box raffle will be featured at the event.  This fabulous raffle includes a wooden box, crafted by Howard Lehning, a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan in woodworking, and includes the entire contents donated by Roycroft Renaissance Artisans to one winner drawn at this year’s Roycroft Summer Festival in June.  The total value of the Goodie Box and contents usually reaches well over $5,000.
