“Strength, Compassion, Exploration,” a members’ exhibit featuring a diverse display of artwork, will take center stage at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, 1168 Orchard Park Road, with an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. The event will also feature live music by Dana Eric Misenheimer, and the public is invited to stop in for refreshments and meet the artists. 

The next “Wine, Women & Art” class with artist Andrea Oswald will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the gallery. Participants will create a frosted heart-shaped candy dish decorated with pansies. A registration fee of $25 includes art supplies, wine, snacks, girl talk and lots of laughter!

Entries are due by 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, for a new photography contest with a “Nature’s Flower Garden” theme. Photos could include a planted garden, garden in a park, wildflower garden, a single rose, field of flowers, vase of flowers, a reflection of a flower or anything consistent with the theme. An awards reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the gallery. Please see the gallery’s website for more information.

A two-week session of colored pencil classes with artist Cindi O’Mara will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a refresher drawing class. Sessions will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the registration fee is $38.

Watercolor classes with artist and gallery owner Paulette Krakowski will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on four consecutive Wednesdays beginning Oct. 2. Beginner and intermediate level artists will learn new techniques while working on small weekly projects. The cost for the four-session class is $80.
