The East Aurora Art Society and Absolut Care of Aurora Park are partnering again this winter to present the Annual Crystal Moonlight Gala. The event will be Sat., Jan. 29, from 7 until 9 p.m. Although the event is free of charge, there will be art for sale as well as a raffle of small paintings.

The Gala is scheduled during the winter because there are few public activities for the public at this time of year. The event is intended brings a light and cheerful feel to a gloomy winter. “Everyone who attends leaves in a happy frame of mind. Each year always goes well,” said Bernice Smith, publicity director of the East Aurora Art Society.

The Annual Crystal Moonlight Gala has its origins in a long partnership between the Art Society and Aurora Park, and the first Crystal Moonlight Gala took place five years ago. The event has continued to grow and built an artistic following.

The inspiration behind the event was to allow the residents at Aurora Park the chance to enjoy artwork and join in an unforgettable night where they are capable of doing more than what their daily schedule calls for. Smith explained that she hears many stories of how art has touched the residents.
