Erie County Fair Concert Announcement - Gary Allen with Special Guest Josh Thompson

The Erie County Fair will welcome American Country Music Artist, Gary Allen with special guest Josh Thompson on the Buffalo.com Grandstand at the Erie County Fair, August 14th, sponsored by WGRZ Ch. 2 and WYRK.  Tickets will go on sale May 4th at the Fairgrounds Event Center, online at tickets.com or charge by phone 1-888-223-6000.  Tickets are $60/$45, ticket price includes admission to the Erie County Fair the day of the concert. 

Gary Allen has had 4 number one hits, "Man to Man", "Tough Little Boys", "Nothing but the Radio" and this year's #1 is "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)".

Josh Thompson released his debut album "Way Out Here" in January 2010 which produced 3 top 40 hits: "Beer on the Table", "Way Out Here", and "Won't be Lonely Long".

 County Clerk’s Office will now offer monthly outreach
 

Erie County, NY- As a service to Erie County residents, County Clerk Chris Jacobs announced that his office will be offering additional “Passports on the Move” outreach events the second Tuesday of every month. The first event will be held on Tuesday, April 9th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erie County Auto Bureau, located in the Northtown Plaza, 3095 Sheridan Drive in Amherst.

“The Clerk’s Office is pleased to make this service available in order to meet the growing demand for passports,” said County Clerk Jacobs. “I want to make County government more customer-centered, including offering convenient alternatives for our customers to obtain passports.”

Join the Organ Donation Registry through the Erie County Auto Bureau

April is National Donate Life Month and it is a good time to consider helping the growing list of people living on hope.   As you read this, over 10,000 New Yorkers are waiting for lifesaving organs, including over 500 right here in Western New York.   Thousands more are waiting for life enhancing tissue and eye donations, with 118 people added to the national organ transplant waiting list on a daily basis.

Legislator Lorigo to sponsor blood drive with Unyts during National Donate Life Month

 

In recognition of National Donate Life Month, Legislator Joseph Lorigo will be hosting an open-to-the-public blood drive with Unyts, WNY’s only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center, on Monday, April 15th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Southgate Plaza Neighborhood Blood Donation Center, 1000 Union Road, parking lot F.  Anyone who is interested will also be able to register with the New York State Donate Life Registry. 

 

“Giving the gift of life through a blood donation is critically important,” Legislator Lorigo said.  “By giving blood, you are helping to make sure there is an adequate supply available for your friends and neighbors in their time of need.”

Four representatives of Annunciation parish in Elma recently took part in the 61st annual Diocesan Youth Conference presented by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. The event took place at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown Buffalo.

Approximately 750 Western New York teenagers took part in the event, which offered a mix of prayer, education and fun. Keynote speaker Cooper Ray, a youth ministry director from Baton Rouge, La., encouraged the participants to strive to become all that they can be.

The weekend also included group learning sessions dealing with topics such as anger, greed, hope, relationships and more.

This New York State Education Department (NYSED) training is intended to provide Parent Members who sit on the Committees on Preschool and School Age Special Education (CPSE/CSE) with an understanding of their role, requirements and the special education process.  Participants will learn techniques and strategies to fulfill the Parent Member role in a meeting.
